Privacy policy

Cleverpilot Analytics (“we”) provides Cleverpilot, a web analytics service. This policy explains what we collect about (1) people who use our dashboard (“customers”) and (2) visitors to websites that use our script (“visitors”).

Website visitors

Cleverpilot is designed to measure traffic without identifying anyone:

  • We do not use cookies, local storage or device fingerprinting.
  • We never store IP addresses. An IP and user agent are combined with a random salt that rotates every 24 hours, then hashed; the salt is deleted, so the hash cannot be reversed or linked across days.
  • We record the page URL, referrer, UTM tags, browser, operating system, device type and approximate location (country, region, city), plus clicks and custom events the website chooses to send.
  • Websites may attach an anonymous visitor ID to a payment to measure revenue by source; we receive the amount and currency, not card or personal details.

The website owner is the controller of this data; we process it on their behalf.

Customers

When you create an account we store your email address, a hashed password, your workspace and team settings, and billing status. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see full card numbers. If you connect Google Search Console, Bing or a payment provider, we store the tokens or secrets needed to read that data for you.

How we use data

Only to provide and improve the service: showing analytics, sending emails you requested (sign-in links, invites, digests), billing, security and support. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

AI features

When you use Ask AI or digests, aggregated statistics for your site (not raw visitor records) are sent to our AI model provider to generate the answer. They are not used to train models.

Retention and deletion

Analytics data is kept for up to 3 years and then deleted automatically. You can delete a site, or your whole account, at any time from the dashboard, which removes the associated data.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your account data. Visitors with questions about a specific website should contact that website's owner. For anything else, email hello@cleverpilot.io.
